Avon EB800 Security Barrier, an automatic barrier to secure areas and control vehicle access. The rising arm barriers offer a maximum boom length of 8m making it ideal for wider roadwidths or where larger vehicles are operating.
The EB800 is 100% duty cycling, allows compliance with safety standards and is designed for continual high use. Manufactured to the highest standards; the destinctive high quality barrier is constructed from aluminium and has a rust free environmentally durable IP54 rated cabinet.
The barrier cabinet is slate grey (RAL 7015) powder coated with a traffic yellow lid (RAL 1023), other colour options are available.

Product overview
An in-built safety feature automatically reverses the barrier direction when an obstruction is met. Barriers are factory set to an operating speed to meet force testing requirements, but can be adjusted (via the control board) to operate faster or slower depending on a risk assessment and other safety systems in place.
Boom Lengths and Accessories
The red and white aluminium boom is centrally mounted on the barrier cabinet enabling it to be installed on either side of the roadway. Bottom folding skirts are available on boom lengths up to 8m and full height top and bottom folding skirts are available on boom lengths up to 6m, (folding skirts require additional safety devices). For ease and cost of transporation booms over 5m are provided in two sections and are assembled on site.
The boom underside can be supplied or retro fitted with an LED lighting strip that can be programmed to glow red in the closed position, flash whilst in operation and change to green in the raised position to provide an additional indication to vehicles of the status of the barrier.
Versatile Controller
The versatile controller provides a generous number of pluggable terminals, relays and loop detectors to easily integrate with access control systems. It monitors running time, has a status display and fault memory. As an option it can be network enabled with a socket for module TCP/IP or RS485 as well as an in-built socket to fit an optional (R/F) remote control receiving module.
The energy saving 24v brushless motor/gearbox assembly incorporates a planetary gearing system with sinusoidal movement for a soft start and soft stop action, efficiently using minimal energy to operate when accelerating and decelerating, that results in a smooth lifting or lowering of the barrier arm.
Smooth Drive
The drive mechanism is accessible through the lockable cabinet and by releasing the removable lid. In the event of a power failure or emergency, there is a lever with the cabinet to manually raise or lower the barrier. The zinc-treated drive components are made of die-cast and lasered steel and the unique spring mechanism assists with the smooth drive and counterbalancing of the boom to minimise operational wear on internal components.

Boom construction: |
Boom profile is a rectangular extruded aluminium, boom lengths up to 5000mm -100 x 50 mm, 6000mm-8000mm – 138 x 60mm powder coated (RAL 9010) with red reflective signal stripes with a rubber tube on the boom underside. Booms over 5m are provided in two sections and are assembled on site. It is recommended that for stability a fixed end support post is used for boom lengths of 5m and over. |

Barrier construction: |
The aluminium cabinet is powder coated – main cabinet RAL 7015 (slate grey), cabinet lid RAL 1023 (traffic yellow) (other options available) with an IP54 rating. |

Installation: |
The barrier foundation if installing outside should consist of grade C35/45 concrete and it is recommended that the barrier is secured to the foundation using 4 M12 x 160/180mm chemical anchors. The installation of ducts for cabling is dependent upon the control criteria. |
