Avon Barrier Opens New Bristol Facility for HVM Production

Avon Barrier a British manufacturer of Hostile Vehicle Mitigation, Blast, Ballistic and Forced Entry products is pleased to announce that its team has settled into the company’s premises in Nailsea, Bristol. The new manufacturing facility is 17,000 sq ft and includes, high capacity assembly areas for both electrical and mechanical parts, dedicated welding zones alongside purpose built offices and two meeting rooms.

Avon Barrier has exported to over 70 countries around the world, supported by a strong network of partners and distributors we have built an international presence thanks to our products reliability and high quality. Our manufacturing team ensure every product is finished to a world class standard.

Among the first projects at the new facility is the production of a SG1100CR Gate, which incorporates an FB6 Ballistic Protection System and stands at an impressive height of 3.2 meters.  This Gate not only holds PAS 68 certification (PAS 68:2010 V/7500 (N2) /64/90:0.0/0.0), but has also undergone further testing, tested to FB6 classification,  successfully withstanding ammunition calibres of 5.56 x 45mm NATO and 7.62 x 51mm NATO, with no splinter.

The SG1100CR Gate is currently being preassembled following welding work to undergo factory testing, this ensures that at each stage of manufacturing quality and operation is checked and any issues can be resolved prior to painting. Overseen by our Project Management team every milestone is documented and approved ensuring our customer is updated on the product status. This ensures there is a smooth line of communication from the factory direct to the end user.
