Avon Wedge II Road Blocker

Avon Wedge II Road Blocker

Avon Wedge II Road Blocker is a Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) solution and provides maximum security for highly sensitive vehicle access points, providing protection against unauthorised vehicles. This shallow foundation road blocker is ideal where deeper foundations are not possible / practical.

With a foundation depth of just 300mm inclusive of the 100mm road surface, the Avon Wedge II has been designed to reduce installation costs significantly by having a shallow foundation and a decreased foundation foot print.

The road blocker has a blocking segment with a raised height of 1000mm and has been physically tested to PAS 68, IWA14-1 and also the US standard ASTM F2656-15 achieving zero penetration in all tests.

Product overview

The Avon Wedge II is designed to guarantee a high level of security.  It can be installed as a single unit or in combination with other products (e.g. barriers, gates, tyre killers or bollards).  Its an ideal product for an airlock or sluice arrangement to create a vehicle checking point for extra security checks.

Available in widths from 2-4m in 500mm increments, the Avon Wedge II is a flat unit that is easily transported and is ready to install with separate drive cabinets which can be located in the secure side of your perimeter line.

Where the blockers control point is remote from the installation, we strongly recommend the fitting of a recordable CCTV system, traffic lights and inductive loop systems.

For safety reasons pedestrians, cyclists and motorcycles are advised not to use a blocker controlled roadway, additional safety measures can be incorporated into the blocker system if required.

This is a specialist high security product and is designed for use with vehicles only and a full site risk assessment must be carried out at design stage to ensure that all relevant safety systems are included.
